PhoneTorch - Use your phone's LED flash as a torch

PhoneTorch - Main screen PhoneTorch - Settings PhoneTorch - Morse code

How many times you have found yourself into the dark looking for the keys or something else. How many times you have used the camera key or the bright display of your mobile phone to light up the floor and find what the hell are you looking for. Well, I personally did all of those things so many times that I stopped counting. So now, there is a simple free application called PhoneTorch that uses the screen of your mobile phone or the LED flash of the phone's camera as a torch so that you can have the LED flash on for how long you like. There is nothing much to say about PhoneTorch for S60 5th edition mobile phones as the Nokia N97 and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, except that it does what it is supposed to do very well. Although you might thing you don't need this application, PhoneTorch might save you some trouble when it comes to it.

I recently bought the Nokia N97 and installed PhoneTorch but the application seems to get stuck sometimes maybe because of the camera cover, cos when you slide it to open the LED flash you activate your phone camera and you have to exit the camera app in order to use PhoneTorch.

I'm curious as to if it really is as bright as a LED Flashlight? It would be weird to me if all you had to do is download an app to get the flashlight on your phone to work. Interesting though, I'm looking into it.

I agree that Nokia has no obligation to pvoirde OS2007 for the 770. But clearly you are alienating and offending your customers by refusing to do so. I believe this is a bad business decision. I am one of those people who expected to buy an N800 but am now hesitating because of the upgrade policy for the 770.How about a paid upgrade? Figure out what it costs to backport 2007 to the 770 (including licensing costs for Opera, etc.). I'd be more than willing to pay, say $50 for a 2007 upgrade for my 770. Of course updates would then be free until the next "major" upgrade (2008?).Supporting previous hardware versions is a problem that's been solved by most other manufacturers. Usually this means paid upgrades. It isn't easy but I think it's necessary if you want the Internet Tablet to succeed in the long run.
