Nokia N97 firmware 2.0 available via NSU

Nokia N97 firmware 2.0 available via NSU

Finally Nokia N97 firmware 2.0 is out and available via Nokia Software Updater. Even though this update has User Data Preservation included we recommend you take the following approach to ensure no problems with the software update and the best performance from the 2.0 firmware on your Nokia N97.
How to get the best performance from your firmware 2.0 on Nokia N97:
  • Backup your Nokia N97 on your PC or on Memory card
  • Sync all your data to Microsoft Outlook, Google or OVI
  • Wipe the C: partition of your phone with *#7370# (default password 12345)
  • Update your phone
  • Restore the backup

Improvements in firmware 20.2.019 are (From All About Symbian):

  • A reworked memory mapping model - this means that applications use the (relatively) limited RAM much more efficiently and you should rarely see any memory errors. Note that the available 'Free RAM' after booting is now a lot less (around 47MB), but don't take this raw number too literally - apps apparently use less RAM than before
  • Kinetic scrolling in the User Interface in all lists and larger-than-screen views
  • The keyboard driver has been enhanced so that a long press on any key brings up its associated 'function' symbol (or number)
  • Music player shows album art more reliably, plus extra MP3 ID3 information
  • Half a dozen new social media and services widgets have been added by default
  • Camera still and video improvements
  • Offline mode for home screen widgets
  • The N-Gage client is now included (saving 10MB of your C disk, compared to the current situation)
  • Ovi Maps 3.1 is now included (saving 7MB of your C disk, compared to the current situation)
  • Ovi Contacts and Ovi Store clients now integrated (saving more space)
  • More responsive touchscreen driver (so fewer 'missed taps') and the usual minor bug fixes across the board
  • Improvements to Sync system
Good luck and enjoy the new firmware and most importantly the kinetic scrolling on your N97. although Nokia first released new firmware for Iran and Persian language and also the Persian one was one and only 20.0.24 but all of a sudden Nokia has removed the update for middle east languages including Persian and if you check the current version of Firmware with those Product Codes on Nokia's site you'll see the old 12.x one,,, any body knows why ?
