First look at Symbian^3 concept screenshots

Symbian^3 concept screenshots

It seems like 2010 will be an interesting year. During Nokia's Capital Markets Day event, held yesterday, a few screenshots showing how Symbian^3 looks were shown off as part of Kai Öistämö's (Nokia EVP, Devices) presentation. The new Symbian^3 OS will be announced officially in the first half of the year and the first devices using this OS will be available on the marked in the second half of 2010. Please note that these screenshots are mockups and that some details will look a bit different from what we see here.
The first image in this article shows the multiple screen support, as you might see there are three home screens with up to six widgets. The actual number of home screens might be up to six or more. Also on some of the screenshots below you can see some other concepts for the Symbian^3 home screen.

"Faulty web cams (yes, even brand new units so problem only caghut recently) and constant reboots that can't be fixed by flashing are *rife* among N800 owners. If there Nokia QA did their job on these units prior to CES, can I suggest you hire a new QA team?"I had to swallow hard and breathe deeply before replying to this. There were factors involved in the webcam issue which will not be revealed to the general public. Suffice to say that final assembly QA did their absolute best under the circumstances to reduce the number of defective webcams getting into the wild. It is unfortunate that some still managed to escape but that was beyond their control. But you are getting your wish: all of final assembly QA is being laid off due to the closure of the Alliance facility. Your only problem afterward will be in dealing with the consequences of what you asked for.Good luck.

Your article has prvoen useful to me. It’s very informative and you are obviously very knowledgeable in this area. You have opened my eyes to varying views on this topic with interesting and solid content. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.Interesting website, i read it but i still have a few questions. shoot me an email and we will talk more becasue i may have an interesting idea for you.

I had been curious about if you ever thhougt of modifying the layout of your site? It is very well written; I really like what you have got to say. But maybe you can add a little more in the way of content so people can connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of wording for only having one or two graphics. Maybe you could space it out better?
